Our story begins in 1933, with the intuition of Ernesto Conti and Giovannina Wej, button merchants in the cloisters of the Cathedral of the city of Piacenza.
Like a thread between button and fabric, our journey merges four generations, two families and one product. Because buttons come from far away: they were born to embellish, but today they unite.
Real horn, corozo, bone and bio-resins make it an object that embodies the nobility of those whose mother was living nature, and the simplicity of things made to perfection.
We know that being able to sew a button is one of the most precious arts of our time, an ancient gesture that stitches us up with present times. Like a flower that has yet to bloom, the buttons are a tale that reveals itself with the passage of time.
Today Conti Wej produces and exports all over the world. We make millions of products, but we know them one by one. We complement a worldwide view with caring for the individual button.
Past, present and future meet in gestures and details, and they come alive in our historical archive. An intimate place that holds the most precious legacy that we have: ideas, designs and unique pieces of our history. A big button box, which is revealed in a true deed of trust between us and our clients.
We are custodians of time: responsibility to those who have gone before us and the insights of the present write the pages of our future.
Our legacy for those to come.
One button at a time.
